Questions for Startup Clothing Brands
Use this clothing manufacturing FAQ for startups to understand how to begin with a tech pack, reference images or an existing sample.
Do you work with startup clothing brands?
Yes. We work with new and growing clothing brands that require product-development support, manageable order quantities and custom branding.
Startups can begin with selected products and scale production after testing demand.
Do I need a tech pack to get started?
A detailed tech pack is helpful because it communicates measurements, materials, construction and design details clearly. However, you can still contact us if you do not have one.
Send your sketches, reference images, measurement ideas or an existing sample, and our team will review the available information.
Can you help if I am starting my first clothing brand?
Yes. Send us your sketches, reference images, product ideas or existing samples. We can review your requirements and explain the next steps for fabric selection, sampling, branding and production.
Can you help develop my clothing design?
We can assist with product-development requirements such as material selection, measurements, construction details, sample development and manufacturing planning.
The level of assistance required will be reviewed according to your product and available design information.
Minimum Order Quantity Questions
This section of our clothing manufacturing FAQ explains minimum quantities, size breakdowns and colour options to help you plan an order.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order quantity can begin from approximately 50 pieces per design.
The final MOQ depends on the garment type, fabric, colors, size breakdown, printing, embroidery, labels and material availability.
Can I order different sizes within the MOQ?
In many cases, the total quantity can be divided across an agreed size range. The available size breakdown depends on the product, pattern, fabric and total order quantity.
Can I place a larger bulk order?
Yes. EStarSourcing supports both startup quantities and larger production programs. Production capacity and delivery schedules are confirmed according to the product and total quantity.
Can I order fewer than 50 pieces?
Quantities below the standard MOQ may not be suitable for every product because fabric, trims, labels and production setup often have their own minimum requirements.
Share your design and required quantity with us so we can check whether a smaller order is possible.
Can I mix different colors in one order?
Color combinations may be possible, but each additional color can affect fabric minimums, production planning and cost. The available options will be confirmed after reviewing your order.
Sampling and Product Development
Can I order a sample before bulk production?
Yes. Sample development allows you to review the product’s fabric, measurements, fit, construction, color and branding before approving bulk production.
Can I request changes to the sample?
Yes. You can provide feedback regarding measurements, fit, fabric, construction, artwork or branding. The required changes and any additional sample costs will be discussed before proceeding.
Can you copy an existing garment sample?
You can send an existing garment as a fit or construction reference, provided you have the right to use its design. Measurements and details can then be reviewed for your custom product.
EStarSourcing does not encourage unauthorised copying of protected designs, artwork or trademarks.
Why is clothing sampling important?
A sample helps identify required changes before the complete order is manufactured. It allows both the customer and manufacturer to confirm the product specifications and approved appearance.
How long does sample development take?
Sample timing depends on the product complexity, material availability, printing, embroidery and requested changes. A project-specific estimated timeline is provided after reviewing your design.
Fabric and Material Questions
Do you provide fabric sourcing?
Yes. We can help source suitable fabrics according to the required product, weight, composition, texture, stretch, comfort, durability, performance and target price.
What does GSM mean in clothing manufacturing?
GSM means grams per square metre. It describes the weight and general thickness of a fabric. A higher GSM usually indicates a heavier fabric, but the appropriate GSM depends on the product and intended use.
Can I provide my own fabric or trims?
Customer-supplied materials may be considered, subject to quality, quantity, compatibility, import requirements and production suitability.
Can I select my own fabric?
Yes. You can share your preferred fabric composition, GSM, colour and performance requirements. Available options can then be reviewed for your product.
Can you source sustainable or recycled fabrics?
Availability depends on the material, required certification, colour and order quantity. Send us your sustainability requirements so suitable sourcing options can be investigated.
Certification or sustainability claims should only be used after the relevant material documentation has been verified.
